The Opportunity
As the Melbourne Operations Manager you’ll play a pivotal role in the delivery of chartered ground transport services to our customers in Melbourne based out of our Footscray depot. This is a senior leadership role suited to a confident, hands-on manager. You’ll be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety, compliance and service excellence. The successful candidate must be able to lead, guide and mentor the local team.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure a high level of compliance to all workplace obligations.
- Recruit and manage staff performance and employment outcomes.
- Oversee daily scheduling, job allocation and logistics.
- Be a point of escalation for incidents and operational reporting internal and external.
- Collaborate with industry to remain informed for best practice and opportunities.
- Support planning for simple and complex transport tasks.
- Manage and maintain effective relationships with affiliate partners.
- Provide operational and logistics advice to Sales Job Managers.
- Quality control operational aspects of assigned bookings.
- Manage supply and demand using existing Availability systems.
About You
- Proven experience managing operations in a leadership role within a fast-paced and complex environment.
- A strong people leader with experience leading frontline and operational teams.
- Confident stakeholder manager with both customer and vendor management experience and a solutions focused attitude.
- Strong commercial acumen to balance delivery with cost control without compromising performance outcomes.
